Hi, I’m Emily, a facilitator, guide, dreamworker and dancer.
I am fascinated by the mysteries of nature and soul, and how we make sense of our times.
Through my work with Nature’s Apprentice, the brain/heart/soul-child of Claire Dunn (author of My Year Without Matches and Rewilding the Urban Soul), I run programs that connect us back to nature, ourselves and each other. I offer classes in deep nature connection, ancestral skills and soulcentric threshold experiences.
I also work one on one with those who hear the call of the wild or the undercurrent of the dreamworld and seek healing, wholeness and clarity around their life’s purpose.

My vision
My vision is to live in a world where we recognise our interrelatedness with the web of life and hold reverence for all beings – a world in which all humans grow up with healthy wildness and expressiveness, and are supported to discover their true gifts and authentic way of being in service to the earth.

Nature and soul training
My teachers include Claire Dunn, Bill Plotkin and the Animas Valley Institute, Jon Young, Tom Brown Jr and Tracker School, Josh Schrei of the Emerald Podcast and Andrew Turbill aka Andrew the Bird Guy. I have an Advanced Diploma in Transpersonal Counselling from College of Complementary Medicine, Mirror Training from Animas Valley Institute and am a trained Vision Quest guide.
Wilderness time
In 2025, I lived for seven and a half months alone in a remote wilderness location in NSW, building a shelter from natural materials and practising ancestral skills like fire by friction, bird language, weaving and hide tanning.

Past lives
My journey has meandered but I have always held strong a vision to live in a wild, sacred and compassionate world. I’ve been a following a path of Earth-based spirituality on and off since my teen years.
I hold a BA (Hons) in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (2006-9) and an MSc in Nature, Society and Environmental Policy (2009-10), both from the University of Oxford.
From 2007 to 2011 I was a soloist in the Yuka Kodama Ballet Group.
From 2010 to 2014 I worked as co-director of the UK Tar Sands Network, a grassroots organisation campaigning in partnership with Indigenous communities in Canada against oil developments on their lands. I was also involved in direct action with Climate Camp, BP or not BP? and other UK activist groups.
From 2014 to 2017 I was a policy analyst at London think tank Green Alliance. I researched and number-crunched proposals for government and industry to reduce emissions and create a more circular economy.
From 2017 to 2019 my love of maths led me to work as a programmer and data analyst, for a left-leaning global tech consultancy and a renewable energy company.
In 2019-2021 I had a transformational period of wandering in the mysteries of nature and psyche, spending vast stretches of time in the wilderness, sitting vision quests and deepening my nature connection practices.
I have been working for Claire Dunn at Nature’s Apprentice since 2021.
There’s a thread you follow. It goes among
things that change. But it doesn’t change.People wonder about what you are pursuing.
You have to explain about the thread.
But it is hard for others to see. While you hold it you can’t get lost.
Tragedies happen; people get hurt
or die; and you suffer and get old.Nothing you do can stop time’s unfolding.
You don’t ever let go of the thread. The Way it Is by William Stafford
